Well, it’s been a few weeks since my last post on Fantasy Elites and I think a new lineup is well overdue! Since I last shared some picks a few different things have changed around the National Football League. Jamaal Charles is out, Antonio Gates came back into the picture, and Arian Foster appears to be getting back to his old self. Keep reading below to see my analysis of the different positions this week, along with a nice lineup you can put to the test on either FanDuel or DraftKings this weekend!
Quarterback – With the different match-ups this weekend it makes the quarterback spot a little tricky. Andrew Luck ($8900) and Carson Palmer ($8200) both have good looking match-ups, but are also going to be costly. If you’re looking to spend less of your salary cap on a quarterback then consider Matthew Stafford ($7400) or even Ryan Fitzpatrick ($7100) as the first is facing a mediocre pass defense and the second may be passing the ball quite a bit in order to keep up with the Patriots. Those who are looking to save even more money and are willing to gamble a little more in this position could even consider Derek Carr ($6700) or Zach Mettenberger ($5900) who will be starting in place of the injured Marcus Mariota.
Runningbacks – So many running backs have good looking games this weekend, it’s a shame they’re all so expensive! One player I highly recommend starting this weekend is Todd Gurley ($7400) because he’s extremely affordable and is playing one of the worse rush defenses in the league. Along with Gurley I would keep a close eye on Le’Veon Bell ($8900). If Big Ben is out this weekend then Le’Veon becomes a must start! Aside from those two both Devonta Freeman ($8700) and Arian Foster ($8600) are good choices. Anyone looking to spend less on running backs could also consider Latavius Murray ($7000) and Lamar Miller ($6700) could also have a big weekend.
Wide Receivers – Although some of the top wide receivers out there are a little banged up, plenty will be ready to go when Sunday comes around. DeAndre Hopkins ($9200) could have another big weekend because the Texans don’t have many other passing options. I could also see Larry Fitzgerald ($7800) having a good weekend up against the Ravens weak secondary. Brandon Marshall ($8200) and Julian Edelman ($7800) cost around the same and could have a nice match-up going against each other. For cheaper options you might want to consider Donte Moncrief ($6500) considering Andrew Luck is back in action now, and Travis Benjamin ($6600) as him and Josh McCown have developed quite a good chemistry with each other.
Tight End – Don’t be like most others this weekend and rush to start Rob Gronkowski ($8100). His price tag is high and he’s playing a Jets defense that’s been pretty good against the pass. Greg Olsen ($6400) is a better option over Gronk in my opinion, but Gary Barnidge ($5900) is a great sneaky option with a low price tag. Also, if Antonio Gates ($5800) is healthy and ends up playing he could be a great cheaper option as well!
Defense – By looking at the different games in Week 7 it appears the Arizona Cardinals ($5100) might be a solid choice. But, I think there are more affordable options that could perform just as well. Consider starting the Carolina Panthers ($4800) defense instead. Otherwise, the St Louis Rams ($4500) could be a cheaper option. Those wanting to spend less and take more of a gamble could also start the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($4000) as they’re playing a poor Washington Redskins teams that is prone to turnovers.
Kicker – The kicker position is always a fun one to pick. Which teams do you think are going to make it near the red zone a number of times, but not have enough to get the job done? My votes this week would be Justin Tucker ($4800) or Nick Novak ($4600). As a cheaper option you may also want to consider Andrew Franks ($4500).
