I wasn’t able to share my football picks last week due to being on vacation. But, I’m back again and it’s now time to prepare for Week 4. Lots of great match ups this weekend with a few teams also on bye. For those of you who did get into weekly fantasy leagues last weekend, it was certainly a big one for running backs! My top two RB picks in Week 3 both had solid scoring games: Latavius Murray (RB) and Devonta Freeman (RB) each pulled in over 20 fantasy points on FanDuel. Continue reading the paragraphs below to see my DraftKings/FanDuel lineup for week 4.
Quarterback – Lots of affordable quarterbacks could have a productive Week 4 weekend. Both Eli Manning ($7800) and Tyrod Taylor ($7600) will be playing each other which should be interesting as both teams have some of the worse pass defenses in the league right now. Not to mention, both are pretty affordable. If you’re looking for a cheaper option then Brandon Weeden is also playing a rather poor pass defense and only costs $6400, but he’s a gamble and had a really poor passing game in week 3. Kirk Cousins ($6100) is another cheap option playing a poor pass defense.
Runningbacks – I personally believe there are some good sleeper running backs to consider this weekend. We haven’t seen much from T.J. Yeldon ($6400) so far this year, but he’s got five times as many carries as any other player on the Jaguars and the Colts have looked pretty bad against the run this year. He’s cheap and he is definitely the main guy handling carries for this young offense. Carlos Hyde ($7400) and Latavius Murray ($7500) are other players to consider because they’re facing poor rush defenses, but keep in mind San Francisco looked pretty bad last weekend. Jonathan Stewart ($6300) would be another good pick for this Sunday. But, he hasn’t produced much yet. Not to mention, quarterback Cam Newton has the ability to rush himself.
Wide Receivers – Lots of top receivers have good match ups this weekend and that’s part of why I personally think you should consider spending slightly less on running backs in order to free up more salary cash to start more top receivers. Odell Beckham Jr. ($9100), A.J. Green ($8400), Randall Cobb ($8200), and DeAndre Hopkins ($7900) could all generate good numbers compared to the defenses they are matching up against. Those who are wanting to spend a little less may also want to consider Emmanuel Sanders ($7900) or T.Y. Hilton ($7600). Two sleeper wide receivers I’m picking for this week would be Allen Robinson ($6500) and Donte Moncrief ($6300).
Tight End – When it comes to tight ends in Week 4 there isn’t a huge price difference in my picks. While lots of people might be thinking Jimmy Graham ($6600) is a good pick, I wouldn’t pay the asking price. Travis Kelce ($6400) may be nice if his price was cheaper and he had a better quarterback throwing his way. With that in mind, I’d look at starting either Jason Witten ($6000), Jordan Reed ($5600), or Martellus Bennett ($5500) this weekend. All three have favorable match-ups and can easily get just as many targets as the two most expensive tight ends I listed above!
Defense – Similar to tight ends, there isn’t much price difference when it comes to defenses. Occasionally you can find decent match ups at a lower price to potentially save a few hundred extra dollars in your salary cap. A few defenses I like this weekend are the Philadelphia Eagles ($4500) and the San Diego Chargers ($4400). Those wanting to gamble on a cheap defenses can consider Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($4000).
Kicker – I see a number of good kicker options for the different games taking place this weekend. One important kicker note to jot down is that Eagles kicker Cody Parkey has been placed on IR after injuring himself in warm-ups last weekend. Be sure you’re not playing him in any leagues! Instead, look at starting Josh Brown ($4800) or Graham Gano ($4700) if possible. Those wanting to gamble with a cheaper kicker could also consider playing Josh Lambo ($4500) in their leagues.
