I hope everyone enjoyed their first week of Fantasy football action this past weekend! If you used my previous lineup then you should have likely cashed in double ups and some tournaments. There were some games last weekend that had really high scores and I could see the same thing happening with a few other games this weekend. Let’s stop wasting time and get right into things! Keep reading below to see players I like going into this weekend, plus a free DraftKings lineup if you’d like to plug it into play.
Quarterback – There are some great options at QB this week. My two favorite quarterbacks in Week 2 would have to be Eli Manning ($7600) and Cam Newton ($7900). Eli might be played by lots of people and Cam’s price might be a little high, but I think both of these quarterbacks are worth their salary! If you’re looking to spend a little less then you might also want to take a chance with Marcus Mariota ($6000).
Runningbacks – The running back position will be hot in a few games this weekend. A few players I like right off the bat would be David Johnson ($7600) and DeAngelo Williams ($7100). Both of these backs have really nice setups and stand to put up at least 100 yards and a touchdown. If you can’t afford to pay up in the RB position then you may also want to give some consideration to Latavius Murray ($5700) or Rashad Jennings ($5600). While these two have a lower price point then my top two picks, I still think they have potential for plenty of carries which could lead to a big weekend!
Wide Receivers – Lots of people will be riding on Antonio Brown ($9900) and I don’t doubt he’ll have a big game. However, from a DFS standpoint I would probably look at A.J. Green ($8900) instead. His cost is $1k less than Brown and he’ll likely have just as many points. Julio Jones ($9200) and DeAndre Hopkins ($8700) are other expensive wide receivers I will look at playing in some of my personal lineups this week. As far as wide receivers with a lower price tag goes, I like Michael Floyd ($5900), Willie Snead ($5800) and Travis Benjamin ($4400) as all three have good match-ups!
Tight End – Although Jordan Reed ($6800) is one of my favorite tight ends, I wouldn’t recommend starting him this weekend. Dallas does a decent job against TE’s and 2 of his 3 worst games last year came when playing Dallas. With Gronk also potentially being out I actually see the tight end position being a great place to save some money in Week 2. If Julius Thomas ($4400) is healthy and playing then he could have just as good of a weekend as he did in Week 1. I would also give some consideration to playing Delanie Walker ($4500) or Antonio Gates ($4500) as well. Those wanting to go super cheap might see a huge game out of Jesse James ($3400) if Antonio Brown is covered all night.
Flex – Depending on your salary there are lots of good choices with the Flex spot. If you plan on stacking your team in other positions (like my lineup below does) then you will need to look at cutting down spending here. Two affordable Flex players I really like this week are Shane Vereen ($3800) and Danny Woodhead ($5200). Both of these players are affordable and should see both running and passing action. However, a few of the more expensive players I could see filling in the Flex spot would be or .
Defense – Defensive picks in Week 2 present some great opportunities. Since I think the STL/SEA game will be a complete bust on both sides it makes the Seattle Seahawks ($3800) defense look pretty tempting. If you aren’t looking to spend the second highest amount on defense then you might want to think about New England Patroits ($3000) since they took Tannehill for 2 interceptions and 5 sacks in a 36-7 loss last year.
